Lothian Running Club’s Max McNeil was amongst the points scorers for the East District team that claimed second place behind winners North of England at Saturday’s Inter-District Cross Country Championships at Holyrood Park, Edinburgh.
In typical cross country conditions of wind, rain snow and mud Max covered the 8k course in 28 minutes 15 seconds to place 8th overall and 5th Scot of the 55 finishers. Dan Cliffe of Liverpool Harriers was the individual race winner. Team scores were, North of England , East , Scottish Students, West , North .
Max will pull on the Scotland vest in Ireland this Sunday when he will be part of the quartet in the Scottish Under-23 team for the Celtic Nations International in Drumboyne, County Meath.
Scotland will take on Wales, Northern Ireland and Rep of Ireland.
