The main fixtures for the coming Cross Country Season are listed below.
Main XC Fixtures

Entry is on the day, just make yourself known at the club tent in plenty of time for your race. If possible, it’s appreciated but not required if you can let the team managers know ahead of time that you will be running.
This event is open to all club members aged 9 (born after 1/09/2006) and upwards.
Race start times are normally the same for all 3 league meets, but keep an eye out for last minute changes.

- 13:05 – U17 Men
13:10 – Junior, Senior & Vet Women,
- 13:45 – U15 Boys
13:48 – U15 Girls & U17 Women
- 14:15 – Senior, Junior, Vet Men
Note that the U17 Men, and Jun/Sen/Vet Women run at the same time, but the men start a few minutes earlier. Similarly for the U15 Boys and U15/U17 Girls race
The club tent and banner will be at the start/finish area from around 11.00am where you can check-in, collect your number and pay your entry fee, which is £3 (£2 for under 11’s). It is recommended that you arrive in good time to do a recce of the course and warm up before your race.

The Master’s Championships is a Veteran’s championships, which for those that qualify counts towards the Club’s XC championship.
Entries are open to Men and Women over 40, who are members of Scottish Athletics

Entries So Far:
Scottish National Championships to be held at Callendar Park, Falkirk on Sat 23nd February. You need to pre-enter to run, also be a club member, and a member of Scottish Athletics to take part.
The event is open to anyone born before1st September 2007. (no U11s)
Changing and parking will again be at the Graeme High School on the north side of A803, just East of Falkirk town centre. The the start and finish are 500m away in Callendar Park in front of Callendar House. Take care crossing the main road.
The course is Mixed terrain, quite hilly and suitable for spikes. The big change from previous years is that the Senior Men and Women will both now run 10Km. In the past the distances have been 12Km and 8Km respectively.
Competitors must wear chips attached to their shoe-lace (They must supply their own salt and vinegar.) They must wear numbers in front only. (Except under 17 women & under 19 women who have numbers front and back.)
- Please share transport where possible and arrive at least an hour before your race, in order to prepare and reccy.
- Club tent will be erected on the west (right) side of the run-in just before the finish. Collect your number from the tent.
If you can volunteer to assit with team mangement on the day please contact email@example.com. This might include: arriving early to set up the tent, athelte registrationa dn districbution of numbers, collections of match fees on the day, assiting athletes on the day (e.g. collecting warm clothes from teh start line)

Age groups for Scottish Athletics XC 2018/19 are as follows:
- U11 – Born Between 01/09/2007 and 31/08/2009
- U13 – Born Between 01/09/2005 and 31/08/2007
- U15 – Born Between 01/09/2003 and 31/08/2005
- U17 – Born Between 01/09/2001 and 31/08/2003
- Juniors – Born Between 01/09/1998 and 31/08/2001
- Seniors – Born Before 01/09/1998
- Masters – Over 40 on day of race
How to Enter:
Entries for all of the events, apart from the three league meetings in Stirling, Livingston, and Broxburn are required in advance and close either 2 or sometimes 3 weeks before each race – so get the dates in you diaries now. Sign up sheets will be on the notice board at Craigswood for those events that require it, and if you want to run please add your name to the list.
You can also enter by e-mailing your name, date of birth and Scottish Athletics number to firstname.lastname@example.org or commenting on the relevant post on our facebook page.
The club subsidise the entrance fees for all of the races in the calendar. The cost to the athlete for each race is £5 which you pay in advance or the day to the club’s team manager in the Club’s tent which along with our club banner will be present at all the events. Entry for under 17’s is £2.
Please note if the club has entered you for an event and you don’t run, the full race fee is still due (except the East League events).

Scottish Athletics Memberships Races
All National, District, and League events require membership of Scottish Athletics (except U11s). As well as being a member of the club you must also be a member of Scottish Athletics to participate. SAL fees are £5 for under 21’s and £18 for Senior Membership – full details of how to apply are on the Scottish athletics website. See Scottish Athletics Website for more details.
Club Cross Country Championships – The club’s annual cross-country championships encompasses a selection of races throughout the season.
East District League
East District League – The three events are always popular with the club, and count towards the club championships.

Another popular series of events is the Borders Cross Country Series. A single one-off entry entitles you to run in any of the 6 events. Entires fill up fast.
