EDEL RETAINS ‘FAMOUS’ TITLE

Updated: 2010-07-12
Lothian Running Club’s Edel Mooney retained her title at the Famous Grouse Crieff 10k Race on Sunday [11th July].

It is a multi-terrain race run over a scenic route with 350m total ascent, starting from Morrison’s Academy sports ground (Dallerie). The course goes out over Laggan Hill past the Baird Monument and back along the banks of the River Earn via Lady Mary’s Walk

Given the windy conditions it was no surprise that Edel’s time of 40 minutes 41 seconds was just over a couple of minutes slower than her figures of 12 month’s ago.

This placed her 16th overall and first female.
The club’s Jim Alexander also contested the race finishing 93rd in 49 minutes 20 seconds.

A total of 249 runners completed the course.
