Report

I was impressed to see some very fast times over a hilly 1.3Km course and it was also good to see all the younger runners finishing with a smile.

Personally I preferred the old course, with the challenge of Cocklreroy Hill,  but the new lap in the woods offers shelter from bad weather.  It was easier to mark and close to good facilities.  More importantly the youngsters seemed to enjoy it.

Grateful thanks to a big bunch of jolly helpers, including mum Lucy who assisted Val Dempsey in taking entries. Chris, Matthew and Sam, dispensed goodies at the finish and did a great deal of setting up and clearing away.

Nicola Kellock looked after Martin and was timekeeper / recorder, assisted by Lana Turnbull.

Tracy and Hannah Brindley helped with certificates.

Festive Handicap 2019

Results are available on the Keep it Simple Timing web site.
The Gun time is the handicapped Finish Time. The Chip time is how long you took to complete your 7km or 14km run.

Pair of pretty decent trail shoes left at the car park. Email festivehandicap@lothianrunningclub.co.uk if they’re yours.

” I did photographs of the Festive Handicap as I couldn’t run. I concentrated on my club, Linlithgow AC, but took photographs of other runners as well. I have put them all on Flickr and this is the link: Festive handicap Pictures

Best wishes Roddy Simpson”
