LAUREN CONTINUES CLUB’S WINNING RUN ON GAMES CIRCUIT

The winning run of Lothian Running Club athletes on the Highland Games circuit continued when Lauren Arbuckle raced to victory in the Youth’s 800 metres Handicap at a wet and windy Cupar Highland Games in Fife on Sunday [July 4th].

Running from a handicap of 185 metres Lauren was soon at the head of affairs and went on to stop the watch at 2 minutes 06.01 seconds.

The club’s Hannah Stewart was also in the prizes in fourth place after being cauhgt right on the line for third.

Nicola Kellock made her Games debut in the Youth’s 90 metres Handicap.
The 14 year old won her heat before going on to finish in third place in the final.

Club runners have now been successful on the Games circuit for the past four weekends.

The season continues with the Kenmore Highland Games on Wednesday evening and the Famous Alva Games on Saturday, there is a strong contingent of club members set to run at the latter in both the Open and Youth events.
