PB FOR DARREN AT REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Updated: 2010-05-17
Lothian Running Club’s Darren Thomson recorded a new PB for the 200 metres at Sunday’s Scottish Athletics Inter-Regional Championships at Wishaw.

The Bathgate sprinter who was representing Central region finished a close up fourth in the B 200 metres in a time of 23.71 seconds which was .57 of a second quicker than his previous best of 24.18 set back in 2007.

Darren, who turned 21 on Wednesday[19th] also ran a leg of the 4 x 400 metres relay for the Central team which finished in 5th place.

Club female duo Lana Turnbull and Sarah Inglis were also competing at the event for Central region.
Lana who was contesting her first ever 2000 metres Steeplechase will come on for the experience, she finished 6th overall and 2nd in the B race in a time of 8 minutes 23.61 seconds.
Race winner Emma Raven who was also running for Central set a new Scottish record of 6:29.58.

Not feeling at her best Sarah Inglis, turned in a slightly under par performance in the Women’s 1500 metres.
Her 6th place overall was still good enough to claim victory in the B race, her time however of 4 minutes 40.53 seconds was disappointingly some 16 seconds outside her PB for the distance.
