Successive golds for Amy

Updated: 2010-06-02
Racing for Craiglockhart Primary School, Amy Lickley has won interschools gold medals twice in the past couple of weeks.
In the BAA Edinburgh Airport Youth Games (May 13), she took part in their first aquathlon event (200m swim + 5 times round a football pitch)). Third out of the pool, Amy reeled in the leaders during the first lap of the run, and came home with a comfortable lead.
In the Edinburgh Interscholastic Primary “B” (small schools) P6 and 7 athletics event on May 31, Amy took part in her first ever 600m race. Racing alongside the boys in the final, Amy glided into the overall lead at 300m and crossed the line with a 15m lead over the first boy, equalling the record for the event in 2:02. As she’s still in P6, she’ll be back next year, aiming to smash that record.
