THREE CATEGORY WINS AT PARKRUN

On a sunny but very windy day Lothian Running Club had five runners at the 23rd Edinburgh 5k Parkrun on Saturday 27th March.

Three age category wins were recorded, Lana Turnbull running her 11th parkrun, was first club runner home in 41st overall, 7th female and 1st 15-19 at 20 minutes 45 seconds a full 60 seconds short of her PB for the course.

Jill Horsburgh ran well to place 61st overall which made her 13th female and 1st in the F50-54 category, Jill’s time of 22:07 was also short of her PB.

Alice Horsburgh daughter of the aforementioned Jill was making her race debut and completed the 5k course in 25 minutes 00 seconds for 112th place, 27th female and 1st J14.

Mike and Mags Turnbull made up the club representation and ran round together for 205th and 206th places with Mike completing in 33:55 which was 12 seconds quicker than his debut run the previous week, Mags was a second behind in 33:56.

A total of 218 runners completed this week.
