THREE IN A ROW AT CRIEFF FOR EDEL

Lothian Running Club’s Edel Mooney recorded her third win in succession at Sunday’s Famous Grouse Crieff 10k.

 It is a multi-terrain race run over a scenic route with 350m total ascent, starting from Morrison’s Academy sports ground. the course goes out over Laggan Hill past the Baird Monument and back along the banks of the River Earn via Lady Mary’s Walk.

Edel covered the course in 39 minutes 05 seconds, this was quicker than her 2010 winning time of [40.41] but slightly slower than her course PB of [38.39] set in 2009. In the overall classification Edel finished in 12th place.

The club were well represented in the race and following Edel home were 92nd and 14th female was Marie Storrie in a seasons best time of 48.44. 98th Jim Alexander [49.10], 158th Mandy Scott [53.36], 206th Jim Salvage [57.25] and 247th Mags Turnbull who was setting  PB of[ 62.16], In all 278 runners completed the course.
