Max & Edel top finishers at National XC

Lothian Running Club were well represented in Saturday’s National Cross Country Championships at Callendar Park in Falkirk.
No fewer than 1520 athletes completed the course despite muddy conditions and that is more than 120 over the previous record of 1398 set in Perth back in 1995.
The club’s top performers in the Senior Men’s and Women’s races were Max McNeil and Edel Mooney, Max finished in an excellent 13th place in the Men’s race with Edel turning in an equally impressive performance in crossing the finish line in 12th position in the Women’s event.
In the Men’s  team competition Lothian were in the top half finishing 19th of the 40 teams.
