Paul & Shona complete beautiful marathon

Just a week after running the Loch Ness Marathon Lothian Running Club’s Paul and Shona Young were once again striding out the 26.2 miles this time in the Kielder Marathon. Set in the stunning Northumberland countryside it’s described as the most beautiful marathon course in Great Britain. The course starts and finishes at Leaplish Waterside Park and takes you off around the Lakeside Way, a good trail surface, hugging the shores of Kielder Water while you take in the delights of your surroundings and impressive modern artwork around the lake and forest.
Only 9 places seperated the Lothian duo with Paul finishing 98th overall, 87th male and 35th MV40 in 3 hours 45 minutes 28 seconds, Shona crossed the finish line just over a minute behind her brother in 3h 45m 28s which placed her 107th overall 12th female and 3rd in the FV40 category. 664 runners completed the course.
