Double gold & Female award of the Meet for Sarah

The Spartans Sarah Inglis (Falkirk, Scotland) helped lead the Spartans to an impressive second day by breaking the 1500m conference championship record as well as the TWU record with a gold medal-winning time of 4:16.84, smashing the previous record of 4:19.96, which was set by Victoria’s Debbie Scott in 1981. Inglis bettered her own Spartans record time of 4:18.58, which she set in a converted mile at Seattle’s Dempsey Indoor.

For her efforts, Inglis earned the Female Performance of the Meet award. The Spartans swept the podium in that race as Fiona Benson (Dawson Creek, B.C.) was second in 4:23.43 and Regan Yee (South Hazelton, B.C.) was third in 4:27.38.

Inglis was one of four Spartans to earn gold medals Saturday and her 1500m result was one of four TWU women’s records that went down.  Sarah also won Double Silver in the previous days events.
