East Dist XC League[Stirling]
The first match in the 2016/17 East District Cross Country league took place at a wet and muddy Stirling University Campus on Saturday.
Lothian Running Club were represented in the Senior Mens race as well as three of the junior races.
There were nine blue vests in the line up for the senior men’s event with the first six finishers counting towards points.
First home in 46th place was Malcolm Lang who covered the 5.4 mile course in 33 minutes 04 seconds, he was followed over the finish line by 51 Andrew King[33.38],68 Colin Partridge[34.33],83 Josh Dack[35.06],103 Euan McInnes[35.05],112 Alan Knowles[35.29],156 Alan Moffat[39.09],243 Kenny Mearns[45.30],248 Jim Alexander[46.05].263 Finished. Out of a total of 38 teams Lothian finished in 10th place.
Sisters Erin and Hannah Steel contested the junior races along with their brother Andrew and Aiden McGinty.
Erin finished in 59th place in the combined Under-15/17 Girls race completing the 3,100 metres course in 15m 03s. Hannah and Aiden ran in the respective Girls and Boys Under-13 races which were run over a 2,400 metres course. Hannah finished 21st in a field of 68 in 12m 26s with Aiden 76th in 15m 50s. Andrew who was making his debut finished 76th in the Boys Under-11 race in 7m 08s.
