Top 10 finish and team gold for Sarah in Canada XC C/Ship

Over in Canada Sarah Inglis secured a top ten finish in the Canadian National Cross Country Championship at Kingston Ontario and also helped the British Columbia squad to gold medals in the Provincial team competition.. The women’s 10k course consisted of 2km and 2.5km loops on naturally winding, rolling grass featuring outstanding views of Kingston, Fort Henry, Lake Ontario and Wolfe Island. On a cold and wet day conditions however weren’t exactly ideal for taking in the scenery. By the time the senior women’s race was run underfoot conditions had deteriorated badly and the tight muddy bends claimed some of the runners as they lost their footing.

Sarah managed to negotiate the course safely and came home in 9th position in 35 minutes 01 seconds. Victory went to Canadian steeple chaser Genevieve Lalonde, Speed River Track & Field Club.
