GREAT RUN IN HOUSTON BY SARAH INGLIS

GREAT RUN IN HOUSTON BY LOTHIAN RC’s SARAH INGLIS
Sarah Inglis produced one of her best ever performances in Sunday’s Aramco Houston Half Marathon in Texas to become the third fastest Scottish female of all time over that distance.
It was one of the highest quality fields ever assembled for a women’s half marathon with top ranked runners from Africa, America and Canada among those in the starting line up.
Despite having to contend with windy conditions over the final 5k Sarah who hails from Avonbridge and is the current Scottish 1500 metres champion still managed to knock exactly 2 minutes off her previous best time which she set in the Monteray Bay Half Marathon back in November.
The Lothian Running Club member crossed the finish line in 1 hour 10 minutes and 24 seconds which takes her up to third place in the Scottish all-time rankings with only Liz McColgan’s time of 67m 11s set in Tokyo in 1992 and Steph Twell who also had a PB run of 68.55 in Sunday’s race ahead of her. Sarah is also up to 13th in the UK all-time standings.
