Edinburgh International Cross Country

While the news focused on Joseph Ebuya’s win and Kenenisa Bekele’s shock defeat at the 9km Edinburgh International Cross Country, our own Scott Fraser managed to finish 19th in 31:44. Not a bad result given his preparation – he was down to set out and instruct on a navigation course at Wanlockhead but when it was cancelled he got a last minute run for Scottish Universities. He had not prepared for it, and had been training for less than 3 weeks after a month’s illness.

Iain Donnan had also secured a place in the International Cross Country and had trained optimally. Unfortunately he got a chest infection three days before the event and wisely did not run. Let’s hope he makes the starting line-up next year.
