PB FOR IAN—DEBUT RUNS & CATEGORY WINS FOR SARAN & JILL AT PARKRUN

A handful of Lothian Runing Club members were among a record field of 220 runners for the 17th Edinburgh 5k Parkrun on Saturday [13th Feb].

The first club runner home in 43rd place was David Mabon[55-59], his time of 20 minutes 10 seconds was just outside his PB for the course.

One runner who did record a PB was Ian Leggatt, Ian who was the club’s only representative the previous week at the Masters Cross Country Championships in Forres, set new figures of 21:21 in finishing in 62nd place which is also an [70-74] age category record for the event.

Both Saran Jones and Jill Horsburgh made their parkrun debuts, and at the end of the race they were only seperated by two places and 6 seconds.
Saran [45-49] finished 64th overall and 7th female in 21:27 with Jill [50-54] 66th and 9th 21:33. Both came first in their age group categories.

Making up the club compliment of runners on the day was Carol Mabon who got round the 5k course in 27:31 for 171st and 50th female.

18 club runners have now made parkrun appearances for a total 59 runs.
