FALKIRK PARKRUN CANCELLED
EVENT CANCELLED – Falkirk parkrun – Saturday 7th January 2012
It is with deep regret that the event directors have decided to cancel this weekends event. After a course inspection today to witness the amount of damage sustained following the storms earlier this week, it was apparent that to host a safe & enjoyable event was not going to be possible. Uprooted trees blocking the course, foliage everywhere, flooding, tree’s and branches dangling over the course and the heavily rutted trail path towards the top of Heartbreak Hill means that we have decided the course is not safe enough to go ahead.
Please respect the decision taken but the event team, and where possible, communicate this to anyone you know who may have attended this weekend.
The Council and the Forestry Commission are currently working within the park & woodland area to clear up the debris so we hope that progress is made over the next 4-5 days to allow us to host an event on 14th January.
