WEEKEND IN WORDS
SENIORS AND JUNIORS DO WELL AT LIVI XC
Both senior and junior members of Lothian Running Club performed well in cross country events at the weekend.
At the Livingston Open Series Meeting at Dechmont Law, club veteran George Gilhooly finished leading over-55 covering the 3.8k course in 16 minutes 32 seconds which also placed him 17th overall of the 28 finishers. Alistair Murray finished 21st in 17m 01s with Mark Collings crossing the finish line in 18m 24s to place 24th.

Danny Fletcher had a good run in the Boys Under-11 1.3k race finishing runner up in 5m 22s with 32 runners completing the course. Jonathan Collings performed well in the Boys Under-13 1.7k race finishing 8th of 36 runners in 6m 22s.

BORDERS XC SERIES
The second match of the 2019-20 Borders Cross Country Series took place at Galashiels. David, Lorna and Mairi Eades all took part along with Ewart Scott.216 runners contested the Senior Race with David finishing 54th overall and 11th M50 in 29m 26s, daughter Mairi followed in 88th place and first junior female in 32m 06s. Ewart Scott came home in 141st place and 12th M60 in 36m 24s with Lorna 173rd and 5th F50 in 38m 48s.

BRIAN BAGS PRIZE AT BELLA 10K
Four runners represented the Lothian club in the Jimmy Irvine Bella 10k in Glasgow.There was a category prize for Brian Lees who finished in 3rd place in the M50 category in 38 minutes 56 seconds. Brian was followed over the finish line by 260th & 17th F40 Andrea Seabrook 48m 22s, 332nd & 4th F60 Liz Bondi 50m 26s and 481st and 111th F40 Brian Morris 56m 12s.

 

ORIAM INVASION
LRC were represented by 53 runners at 15 different parkruns on Saturday.

29 of them were at the Oriam parkrun at Heriot Watt University, Riccarton which only started a couple of weeks ago. Josh Dack finished 2nd overall with Jo Williams the leading female.Ryan Kirkland was first home in the M15-17 age group with Murray Close leading home the M13-15’s. At the other end of the age scale Phil Evans was the leading M60 and Ian Leggett M80.
