 Who Can Compete?

Lothian will enter teams for various age groups according to demand. Teams are expensive so we will only be entering teams where there is actual demand. All current Lothian members who are members of Scottish Athletics are eligible to compete. However there are only limited places available in each team, so it may not be possible to everyone to enter their first choice event.  In the event of a conflict, preference will normally be given to athletes that have shown the best recent form. However, other factors may be considered and the club committee reserves the right to make the final decision.

How do I enter?

Please contact your coach at training, put your name down on the sign-up sheet on the club notice board, or email raceentries@lothianrunningclub.co.uk .  Athletes must be a current member of Lothian Running Club, and Scottish Athletics.

Events

The following events are available for competition.  Only one athlete per geneder per age group can compete in each event  (2 per event for U11).  Athletes can compete in more than one event.

  • U11: 60m, 600m, Standing Long Jump
  • U13: 60m, 800m, 60m hurdles, 200m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Putt
  • U15: 60m, 800m, 60m hurdles, 400m, 200m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Putt
  • U17 – U20: Info to follow but similar to above.

The Long Jump is replaced by the triple jump for the second match.

How Can I help?

A Team Manager will be required at each event, to coordinate the athletes on the day.

The club is also required to provide at least 4 officials per match ( prior experience or qualifications useful but not required).  Failure to provide enough officals could jeaporidse the clubs future entry into the league.  Volunteers for each event will be listed on the event page . Please consider volunteering if you can fill in any of the avilable spaces.
